2008 Change of Watch

The Division 6 2008 Change of Watch was held this year at the The Riverview in Hastings on Hudson.

 

Free Vessel Safety Check

The Vessel Safety Check is a complimentary check of your boat conducted by members of the Auxiliary, confirming that it meets both federal and state requirements for safety. No citations are issued and the results of the safety check are not reported to any enforcement agency, but a decal is awarded to display if the vessel has passed the examination. Contact Ed Klotz at  eddieann@verizon.net to set up an appointment.

An example of some of the items checked include:

  • Personal Flotation Devices (life jackets)
  • Registration and numbering
  • Navigation lights
  • Ventilation
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Distress signals (flares, horn, etc.)
  • Battery cover and connections

The Coast Guard Auxiliary performs essential duties for the Federal Government in support roles to the United States Coast Guard in non-law enforcement and non-combat roles as search and rescue missions, boating education, vessel safety checks, environmental protection missions and aids to navigation.
 
Our Flotilla meets on the third Wednesday of every month at the Ossining Boat & Canoe Club
